The soil of Pakistan is very rich and fertile especially the provinces of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtoon Khawah and Sindh which are abundantly productive and capable of good growth of major crops i.e. wheat, rice, cotton, sugar cane, maiz mustard and pulses. The province of Punjab has five major rivers having plenty of water which are controlled by irrigation barrages for the network of canals, similarly the barrages have provided canals for the irrigation of a vast area on both sides of the Indus due to good irrigation and fertile land the country has been obtaining a good yield of crops. Our country earns a handsome foreign exchange by the export of cotton, wheat, rice and sugar. For the encouragement of “Kisans” the insurance industry has introduced “CROP INSURANCE” for the middle class cultivators to whom the banks are providing agri loans on easy installments which facilitate them to promote their crops by quality seeds fertilizer together with harvesting machinery. The Silver Star Insurance Company Limited has been providing insurance for the CROPS to whom, banks are providing loans .
Pakistan is an agricultural country especially the vast area of Punjab, Khyber Pakhtoon Khawa and Sindh. Live Stock is a major segment for such areas. The live stock depends upon green fodder, cotton seeds and oil cakes of which there is a big production from our Oil Mills. Keeping in view of their main diet, the live stock sector has been encouraged by the banks offering loans on competitive interact and easy installments opened their bank branches in the areas where the business of live stock can florisk. The above subject encouraged us to forward one stop and extend our services to the dairy and cattle farming. We first of all obtained treaty from our Reinsurers and at present we are providing insurance to the live stock sector successfully both for the dairy and meat.
